O trânsito de São Luís e as implicações da Pós modernidade na vida dos cidadãos: estudo fenomenológico descritivo

Abstract

Life in traffic is one of the spaces in which human relationships take place, and it can bring many reflections on the existence of man within the world across a horizon of meanings. In this sense, this research has as its main objective to understand how the social changes resulting from Post-Modernity have influenced and continue to influence the actions and behaviors found in traffic in the city of São Luís-MA, as well as in the lives of its citizens. This is a descriptive phenomenological study whose technical procedure is documentary research, in which a survey of information on traffic in the city of São Luís between the years 2018 and 2020 was carried out. "Traffic”, “violence in traffic”, “infringements”, “actions of city hall and other competent bodies” and “infrastructure” were highlighted after an exhaustive reading of the collected material that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The perspective proposed by philosopher and sociologist Zygmunt Bauman became relevant to the discussion of Post-Modernity. Finally, although limited due to the lack of more detailed information about local traffic, we observe that the capital of Maranhão presents problems ranging from urban flow to infrastructural issues, requiring citizens and competent bodies to commit to the endeavor to safety and quality of life while enjoying this space.
