O câncer de mama feminino como fator de sofrimento emocional para a família, segundo a ótica da Gestalt-terapia

Abstract

Gestalt Therapy presents itself as an existential-phenomenological approach, which emphasizes the awareness of the here-and-now, focusing on how the phenomenon is presented, much more than on why. Through phenomena, we become aware of our existence as a being-in-the-world. For Gestalt Therapy, health would be the individual's ability to update their contact with the world, not remaining rigid in their way of being and being. For this approach, falling ill would be in relational disharmony, either with the world in general or with oneself. In this sense, this research has as general objective to understand female breast cancer as a factor of emotional suffering for the family, based on the contributions of Gestalt-therapy. Through a literature review, this study exposes the characteristics of the illness of female breast cancer and how it psychologically affects this woman's family. Thus, it is proposed to understand the psychological aspects of breast cancer from the perspective of Gestalt-therapy and reflect on the emotional impacts of breast cancer not only for women, but for the whole family. For this, it is intended to address the role of the Gestalt-therapist in the psychological support of family members in order to help them deal with the possibility of the loss of the woman, also involving them in the coping process.
