Abstract

The research proposes to discuss the multispecies family entity and the right to paternity leave, since, currently, animals are not limited to playing the role of companions of their guardians, but are beginning to be treated as an integral member of the family. family. The intention is to seek to demonstrate, based on conduct already practiced by companies, nationally and internationally, that the labor rights given to mothers and fathers of children could be extended to pet guardians, in particular maternity/paternity leave, since pet care is necessary in the first days of its arrival in the new home. In this context, to better contextualize the discussion, the first chapter sought to discuss the evolution of the retrograde patriarchal family entity to the current definitions, the human eagerness to be sociable, associated with the current financial and psychological difficulty of maintaining lasting relationships, and the need for day care centers and hotels for pets. Then, the second dealt with the relevance of the laws that cover guardians, the labor laws that can be legislated/adapted for this purpose, and the principles that guide such changes. And, in the last one, the importance of pet friendly companies was discussed, analogy between the leave provided for in article 392 and the maternity leave, and the companies that legitimize the benefit. The method used was deductive, with an exploratory and descriptive character, making use of a qualitative research, through a standardized interview, with sample definition, formulating that the established hypothesis is true. Finally, it was concluded that it is possible to make labor laws aimed at "pet parents".
